Story Information

Heavily inspired by the E-Sports scene and Heartsteel, Follow the Link, also known as the Proplayer AU, is an ongoing League of Legends slowburn fanfiction written by Astra and based on an AU co-created with Negi. Brainstorming began in December 2023 and the first chapter was posted in April 2024.Set in a modern-day version of Runeterra, the story focuses on the pairings of SettPhel and KaynEz, and the friendships and relationships between them as they navigate through the process of falling in love.It follows the story of Ezreal, a streamer and professional League player with multiple Worlds championships under his belt who seems a bit too perfect; Aphelios, a struggling musician and artist who is afraid to break out of the protective shell that he's encased himself in; Kayn, a Rioter who is a fan of Ezreal and has his own anxieties to work through; and Sett, who also works at Riot and, for better or for worse, falls in love far too easily.

A story about love—romantic and platonic—and navigating the anxieties of life so that one can find happiness.
