Aphelios

Occupation: Uni student.The youngest of the twins. As a child, Aphelios suffered from poor health, respiratory issues, and a fear of blood that made his parents' desired path for him to become a doctor a constant source of anxiety. Gravitating instead toward art, singing, and especially songwriting, he endured his developing depression from the pressure he felt to make his parents proud while also repressing his sexuality throughout his childhood. Despite the hardships, he was happy, talkative, and full of life, and he had a playful sense of humor that often manifested in harmless pranks on his twin sister. However, at age 14, Aphelios had his light ripped from him when a botched throat surgery left him with damaged vocal cords, effectively cutting his higher range and shattering any confidence he had. Even though he retained his speaking voice, his condition worsened after the surgery; he turned colder and quieter, and even with his sister's support, he fell deeper into his worst habits and became reclusive. But after years of being dissatisfied with his music, he was contacted out of nowhere by Ezreal for a music commission, unaware that the man would become his closest friend and the reason he regained some of his confidence in music. Although happier and creating music again, he never fully regained the spark he had in his eyes when he was younger, but with newfound friends, he's trying hard to keep his head above the rising tide and let the light in.

Ezreal

A polar opposite of Aphelios. He's loud, bright, and full of energy, and yet Ezreal is his best friend. They met in 2021 when Ezreal reached out to him for a song commission for his stream, and since then, Aphelios couldn't get rid of him even if he wanted. Over several months, the two became good friends, and despite a 10-hour timezone difference, Aphelios makes sure to text and game as much as he can with Ezreal, usually with him waking up at the break of dawn or before to join him. Thanks to Ezreal's support and friendship, Aphelios has regained some confidence in speaking and music, and due to him reaching out and showing an interest in his friendship, Aphelios still feels deeply indebted to him for pulling him out of the dark shell he'd been in for years. There's not much Aphelios wouldn't do for Ezreal, and he's more invested in his happiness than his own.

Sett

Another opposite of Aphelios. Larger than life, warm, and full of more love than he knew what to do with, Sett drew him in with his charm and friendly nature. Their first meeting at the Ionia Riot office was not the first encounter he had with Sett, having known of Sett from Ezreal's stream and how Sett followed his online creation as well, but it was certainly one that felt like fate pulling their strings closer. After that day, he felt a tug toward the man that he desperately didn't want to acknowledge and found himself suffering from something he hadn't in years — a crush. For the first time in over a decade, he felt an attraction, and Sett's immediate and blunt confession made him feel foolishly comfortable enough to lean into those feelings, if only to ease his loneliness. He became closer friends with Sett, learning about his love of cooking and exercise, and unfortunately fell in love with him. The fact of living across the world from Sett kept him at arm's length, believing that there was no point in fighting for him due to the distance and his own hang-ups — that is, until the emotions boiled over, Sett made him want more, and he did the only thing he knew how to do — hide.

Kayn

Kayn is perhaps the most alike to Aphelios, which is a fact that both of them silently understand. If Aphelios is the new moon, Kayn is the full moon. Kayn is bright on the surface but hides a dark, lonely side. Aphelios is dim but hides a brightness waiting to be released. Kayn has a darkness around him that Aphelios identifies with, for better or for worse, but admittedly, he isn't as close to Kayn as he is with the others. From the start, he guessed Kayn's feelings for Ezreal and encouraged the two silently from the sidelines — teasing Kayn whenever he could without being too obvious. He feels a kinship with Kayn from their shared interest in music and being the sense of loneliness he feels from Kayn, but he hasn't connected to him as much as he knows he should.

Ezreal

Occupation: Professional Esports player. Part-time streamer.Homeschooled and born an only child to rich and absent parents, Ezreal found comfort and escape in video games at a young age thanks to his uncle, who often played with him and gifted him new games. Having a deeper bond with his uncle than with his parents, as soon as he turned 13, he begged the man to help him set up a streaming account. After his uncle passed away not even a year later, their love of video games was all Ezreal had left. Streaming became an outlet for him to be himself and spread the love of games he shared with his uncle, and he found that through streaming his League of Legends gameplay. Naturally gifted and knowing the game like the back of his hand, he rose through the ranks despite being so young, and when he was 16, he was scouted by the coach of the Piltover Gaming E-Sports team as their star ADC. He went on to win his first Worlds championship in his debut year, and after winning the following 2 years, earned himself the title of the Golden Prince of Piltover. Since then, he accumulated 4 Worlds wins and some losses that left his confidence in shambles. Even with his successes, he struggles with his self-image and being taken seriously as an adult because of his love of bright colors, sweets, and cute animals, as well as the anxiety his parents instilled in him that he's a burden to those around him. Now with his eyes full of renewed motivation and his friends behind him, he's aiming for that 5th Worlds title.

Occupation: Riot employee.Orphaned at birth in Noxus, Kayn spent the first few years of his life knowing only neglect and abuse. As a toddler, he was adopted by Zed and Shen, who took him home to Ionia where they gave him a new name and a better life. Raised now with unconditional love and support, he grew into a happy, hardworking man despite the lingering trauma that darkened him as he navigated his teenage years. During those years, he stumbled across Ezreal's stream out of a desire to get better at League and found inspiration in the boy even if he was childishly envious of his skill. Since Zed was in the music industry, Kayn grew up with an appreciation for singing and guitar, and while Zed always encouraged him in music, Kayn lacked the confidence and ultimately pursued a more stable career at Riot. One day, an incident with an abandoned kitten left him with damaged vision in his left eye and a bunch of nasty scars. However, refusing to ditch the kitten he saw so much of himself in, Kayn adopted him and named him Rhaast. Still, the scars left on his face cracked Kayn's confidence and he became more pessimistic as strangers judged him on his "scary" appearance, which wasn't helped by his dark attire, sharp scowl, tattoos, black bike, and bad smoking habit. Now part of Ezreal's close circle of friends, Kayn finds himself growing closer to the proplayer he'd admired for a decade, all while regaining his confidence a little more each day.

Occupation: Riot employee.With a heart that loves as brightly as the sun and twice as hot, Sett is larger than life and simply wants to find his happiness and hold onto it. Born to a single mother, he learned to fend for himself at a young age, learning to cook and clean so he could help her when she got home from long days at work. Prone to impulse and never one to back down from a challenge, Sett often found himself in trouble during his school years after winning fights against bullies who mocked him for his tall, bulky stature and the fiery red hair he hated that he inherited from his father. Kayn was the first real friend he ever had, whom Sett practically forced into being his friend when they met in high school; Kayn eventually warmed up to his brightness and since then the two have formed a strong bond and went on to work at Riot together. Spending his free time working out, cooking, volunteering, or playing games with his friends, Sett is the definition of easygoing and loveable, but when his emotions are stoked, he finds it hard to keep them under control and can make rash decisions without thinking it through. Easy to love and loves easily, he believes in fate and love at first sight, a romantic who often suffers heartbreak as a result. Surrounded by his friends, Sett continues to strive for his happiness and that of his friends and family while working hard to keep his passionate emotions in check.
